My super sestina

Angry parents running after screaming toddlers
Eating too much takeaway and junk food
My sister watching Harry Potter movies
Family bonding time in the car
We visit my elderly Nana's house
This was not a good idea.

This is my sestina for NZ writing. We will be sending these to a school in Hamilton, we are looking forward to reading theirs. A Sestina is a poem with six lines and six words on each line. Have you ever written a sestina?

Fantastic family trees

Kia ora bloggers, have you ever made a family tree? well, it sounds easy but it's not you have to find a way to fit everyone in, I struggled with mine but here it is.

What do you think? My mum's side is a lot more complicated than my dads, right. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, have you ever made a family tree?

Confident conversations

Kia ora bloggers, have you ever wished that you could be better at conversating with others? Well I know I have and our class watched a Ted Talk on ten ways to have a better conversation. We all made a slide or powtoon on having better conversations  and I think it really helps so here it is:

What do you think? Will this help you with conversations? Thank you.

Brilliant bar graphs

Kia ora bloggers welcome back,
raise your hand if you like math, so around fifty per cent of you, well I'm not a fan of maths but its a requirement, so in maths we had to create bar graphs and here's my first attempt:

Not great is it, next we got given a checklist and made another one here's the checklist

Scale starting at 0 and going up equally
Gaps between the bars
Labelling my axis
A detailed title
The frequency numbers on the lines, not in the squares
Use a ruler

I got  5/6 but it still wasn't very good, who wants to see my second attempt here it is...
how much better is that. Have your teachers gotten you to make bar graphs? Do you like math or not?
See you next time.

Perfect portrait

Kia ora bloggers and welcome back, its the most wonderful time of the year, I'm kidding it's really not this is the time of the year when teachers make us draw portraits, sorry I meant try to draw portraits of someone who doesn't resemble an alien, actually this isn't a problem for me as I enjoy art but a lot of people don't like this sort of thing.

Anyway, we drew portraits to show people a little bit about ourselves and our cultures as there are so many unique ones, we based our art on the artist Romero Britto, here's my art...
As you can see I have two kittens (Poppy and Pumpkin), I love art and reading, I also love music and youtube the heart represents family and I have drawn the NZ flag and a fern, what do you think? has your teacher made you create portraits?

See you later.

This is a bitable on the NZ singer Lorde. A bitable is a super easy video maker. I created this as a tester for the summer learning journey which is a super fun competition help over the summer holidays to help keep your learning consistent over the summer and you can win prizes such as markers, sports balls and even Ipads! tell me if your school is competing in the summer learning journey. Thank you.  -Zoe-

Interesting Inquiry.

In inquiry, we have been focusing on the power of taking action, we had to pick a topic to focus on eg: gender equality or pollution, I chose gender equality, then we learnt that we had to create a visual art piece representing our topic, the art style I chose was doodle art I can't show you the finshed product as I can't access it  but I promise I will upload it soon, I have really loved doodle art and will be making more in the future. thank you.
